Third Man Update

Hi Everyone:

Just wanted to let everyone know that I have the Criterion Edition of The Third Man. I think, so far, it is only available in the US>

It is two discs and has one entire disc devoted to the making of the movie. It even includes a piece about the Burg Kino showing the movie every weekend. Also, it has an interview with the little boy with the ball, who is now an adult, just about Duncan's age!

In any case, I will bring the entire dvd set in September for our movie night and Duncan's friend, who has the Third Man Museum may want to attend. The dvd mentions his museum.

Best regards to all

And the museum now contains not only the little boy's cap from the film but also the zither used by Anton Karas to record the theme music. The museum is a must for all fans of the film, as well as anyone interested in Vienna in the 1920s-1950s.

Hey Duncan,

glad you could read my Third Man comments, I didnt realize the background would make the words so light.
I will bring the Anniversary dvd with me and you must invite your friend who runs the museum to the Third Man movie night as well as our networking party.
Didnt know that one scene was filed under the Anker clock on Braunmarkt, which was my hotel was located when I was there in May.
Nice location, but wouldnt stay there again since I am a 'GRABEN PERSON" but not a Graben nymph, much too old for that now, too much water under the dam, so to speak.

Ha Ha

Hello everybody,

I just came across this Link.

The third man tour has reopened just this month. I did it once and it was fascinating though smelly (it's in the canal system of course). Still it was impressive. Maybe we can do this together after having watched the movie?

Have a great day
