Hello Everyone:
Hey, where is everyone? Thought we are supposed to stay in touch via our blog, I would love to know what everyone is doing this Summer in Wien! I never make it to Wien in the Summer due to the dearth of ac, but will manage in the future to come over during the Summer moths. I would love to go to the movie nights at the Rathaus, has anyone been there yet?
Today, I saw that Arnie landed in Graz yesterday and was greeted by a MP in full lederhosen, must have been a sight to see, though Arnie was not wearing them! He will be in Austria on a private visit and then on to Britain. I am not sure if he attended President/Secretary Waldheim's funeral on Saturday at St. Stephen's (it was on CNN, very dignified). But I do know that President/Secretary Waldheim attended Arnie's wedding on the Cape many years ago. This time, Arnie brought his daughter, Katherine, who was named after his Mother, which was a nice touch. Hope she appreciates her wonderful Austrian heritage.
Also, hope all the Doctors from St. Anna's enjoy your trip to the Klimt atelier/villa. You all will be the last to tour it, as it will be closed until July of 2008 and may not re-open then to the public.
Best regards to everyone,
susanvon

Hi Susan,
Good to hear from you. Yes we are all very much looking forward to the visit this afternoon.
And finally the weather has cooled down a bit. Yesterday we still ahd 35°C today we are down to 15°C. In between we had storms and hail - a crain even crashed into a church in the middle of the first district (quite a sight). The weather took wuite a toll on us these past few weeks, running for shelter on your way home or suffering from the heat (in my work place I measured more than 36°C). We saw many windows that the wind took care of - it's crazy.
I'm wondering too where everyone is. This blog is such a wonderful platform and if everyone would just stay in touch twice a month it would be more than sufficient. Well I'm hoping that with your networking party more people want to be part of it and more people more posts and more posts more people :-).
All my best from a finally cooler Vienna,
Barbara
Gross Gott Gdagine Frau Barbara:
Thanks for all of your posts. I love reading them. You are a wealth of inforamtin. I would have loved to go to the Harbo candy place, those gummi bears are the best! Every time I go to the Manner outlet, I think that I have passed it and then I smnell the chocolate and know that I am in front of it. I buy everything there, evene the pink Manner T-shirts! Every one there knows me and when I come in, they saw, here is our friend from America who will put all of our children through University!! LOL
Great idea about the Third Man tour, I will bring the Anniersary DVD with me for our movie night. You wil enjoy it. Did you know that the British poiceman who hits HOlly Martins became M in the James Bond filesm? The DVD has all of this info.
Hope our friend Duncan and his family are all right. I heard there are a lot of floodis in Sheffield. Iwill try to call him later.
HOpe you all enjoy your Klimt villa tour, they save the best for last, your group will be the last to see it!
Auf wiedershen
