Hi Everybody
Havent read too much lated, hope everyone is all right. Especially our UK pals, Duncan and Richard.
Right now I am making airplane reservations, does anyone have any experience with the Zurich and Munich Airports on the way to Wien?
Any problems/and or "drama" similiar to what I encountered at Heathrow or in Paris? Just thought I would inquire before I purchse the ticket.
Only good thing about these two airports is that there are stand alone Hermes boutiques in both!
Hope everyone is staying cool and enjoying the summer in Wien~

Hi Susan,
I'm very busy therfor only a short comment...
I've travelled through Munich many times and liked it. They are pleasant and efficient, the airport is modern and clean.
I have no memory of how zurich was - so it couldn't have been too bad ;-)
I Hope I could help
B
Hello Barbara,
thanks for responding. I went through Zurich a long time ago, the only thing I saw from the windows were cows, so it can't be all bad. I think that I will try Munich, lots of nice stores there and no "drama" like what there is at the Frankfurt Flughafen.
Hope you and Idriss have a nice week-end stay cool and dont work so hard.

Hi Susan,
I went through Zurich recently and it was a good experience (clean and efficient, is how I remember it)... In fact, it must have been the best experience I've ever had since I felt asleep. The only time I did in the hundreds of airports I flew through. I was awaken by the call of my name as the flight was about to take off...
Unfortunately, we both got to work this weekend. I have submitted a grant application due yesterday, and I am working on another one due before the end of the month. Barbara has also an application for the month-end...
Cross your fingers for us!
Hello Idriss and Barbara:
Thaks for the info on the Zuric airport. I love Switzerland, it is always co clean and efficient. Zurich and Munich it will be for me for my September trip to Wien.
also, I dont understand how these grants work in Austria for which you have to apply. I will ask my friend here at the Austrian Embassy how they work.
The Doctors I know in Wien (they are MDs though) get paid a salary and then some of the work off the books under the table for cash by trating patiens on the week-end. My UN friends alwasy use them. These doctors dont "have to chase cash" or apply for grants.
Have you both thought of applying for grants to the Diana, Princess of Wales Fund? I understand that her Foundation supports the type of work that you both ar doing.
YOu must explain this process to me so that I can understand it.
Danke

Hi Susan,
The Diana, Princess of Wales Fund initiative would not work for us as it only funds palliative medicine projects to treat AIDS in Africa...
As for the need for grant money, it goes as follows: 1. there is just so much that we can get in donations, the rest needs to come from other sources, and those are usually the grants; 2. the current money covers all existing treatment protocols and research. Any new research into new treatment protocols require new money, which translates again into grant applications...
Susan,
Question: I would like to invite St. Anna Hospital president, and AKH general hospital oncology director to your networking party; they are however both out of town on the 20th...
Any chance we could have the party on the 18th?
