Al Gore Light Bulbs in Honor of Duncan

Hi Everyone:
In honor of our friend, Duncan, I purchased one of the above-referenced light bulbs. He was blabbing on about them and how they are so energy efficient, etc. Well they may be but they don't give off any light, very dark and muted! They are made of Tungsram in Hungary, no less, surprised that they aren't made in China! LOL
Anyway, I will use it up and then it is Kaput! No more Al Gore Energy Efficient light bulbs for me. Now don't be made at me since I take public transportation all the time here in DC and Wien and my place in Florida. Unlike the former Vice President who only takes a big black Lincoln Town car limo and Gulfstreams all the time plus he had an electric bill for one month for over $5,000!
Wonder how much carbon footprints he has left!
LOL

What's the power of your light bulb? We use at home 20-25 watt light bulbs (100-130 W tungsten equivalent), and they work just fine. It just takes about a minute or so to get full power and you save about 80% of energy usage (and cost)!

Hey Idriss,
you are back from your vacation? how was it -hope you didnt see any snakes (achlanger in Deutsch?)
LOL
The tungsten ones I brough are made by GE in a partnership with Tungsten in Hungary, but the said it was from a plant in Ohio - surprised it wasnt China:! LOL
the wattage is 40 watts and I left them on for an hour and never got briter. So much for Al Gore!
I am going back to the Las Vegas ones - I want brightness - regardless of how much it costs and the carbon footprints - I mean if it is good enough for Al Gore, $4000 electricity bill for one month, it is good enough for me!
best to all
